New Foundations Charter School
Students at New Foundations Charter School organized a personal care drive supporting residents of Riverview Wellness Village, a new recovery-based housing facility. The inspiration came from their desire to make a meaningful impact on Philadelphia's addiction crisis and provide real support to those in their community. The goal was to create a wellness pantry to alleviate some of the daily stressors for residents as they went through the recovery process.
The students successfully collected ten full bins of various personal care items, including toothbrushes, soap, and hairbrushes. Additionally, students from kindergarten through 12th grade created positive affirmation cards for the residents, which were deeply appreciated. This project led to a new and growing partnership between the school and Riverview Wellness Village.
