MACS Community Service Club Partners with The Lenfest Center
Safer, Cleaner, Greener Award, First Place: $20,000

The school's Community Service Club partnered with The Lenfest Center in Nicetown/Tioga to enhance resources for the local community. Focusing on youth support, hunger relief, and neighborhood beautification, the students worked with the center to execute a series of drives, services, and improvements. Students provided tutoring and mentorship to local elementary school children. They also organized a successful book drive, collecting and donating over 350 books to the center, along with a food drive that gathered more than 1,500 food items to restock the Lenfest Center's Food Pantry.

In addition to their work at the center, the students expanded their environmental service efforts. The neighbors were thrilled that students successfully added 10 additional blocks to their existing community trash cleanup routes. The club also collaborated with The Lenfest Center to beautify two local parks, Nicetown Park and Hunting Park, by raking leaves, picking up trash, and planting flowers.
