Vocatio Career Prep High School created the Senior Rebuild project to help seniors in the Hunting Park community with home improvement projects. Students recognized that many seniors on limited incomes struggle to afford necessary repairs and wanted to use their skills to provide a practical solution.

The student team was mindful in working with the senior homeowners throughout the process, using project applications, interviews, and follow-up calls to ensure their work met the residents' specific needs and preferences. Students applied a variety of skill sets while enhancing multiple homes, including painting three rooms, deep cleaning, and installing doorbells, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and a new handrail. The project has not only created safer and more comfortable living spaces but also fostered intergenerational bonds and inspired a culture of service.
